The deal, in plain English.

These terms apply when you use Tavsin — the open-source engine, the desktop app, the CLI, or the hosted workspace. Where the law is stricter (consumer protection, GDPR), the stricter rule wins.

1. What Tavsin is

Tavsin is an AI-native engineering environment with a local-first intelligence layer. We offer:

• Free: desktop app, CLI, intelligence graph, memory, outcomes — open source. Forever free, locally.
• Pro / Team / Enterprise: paid tiers that unlock autonomous Agent mode, MCP server access, shared team memory, and (for Enterprise) on-prem deployment + SLA. Pricing on /pricing.

2. Your account

You need an account to use the hosted workspace or any paid feature. You're responsible for keeping your password safe; we hash it (scrypt) so even we can't read it. One account per person — share within a team via our Team-tier seat picker, not by sharing credentials.

3. What we promise

• Tavsin runs the features advertised on /pricing at your tier.
• We don't add a markup to your model-provider (Anthropic / OpenAI / Gemini / local) costs. You pay providers directly with your own keys.
• We don't train models on your data, code, project memory, or chat history.
• We won't terminate a paid subscription without cause; if we do, we refund the remainder of the prepaid period.

4. What you agree to

• You won't use Tavsin to violate laws, harm people, or build things that exist primarily to cause harm.
• You won't reverse-engineer the paid features or share license keys with non-team-members. Keys are signed Ed25519 tokens; sharing them is detectable.
• You take responsibility for what the agent does in your workspace — autonomous mode is opt-in and runs commands you've allowed. Treat it like a co-worker with file-system access.
• You acknowledge that AI-generated code can be wrong; review before shipping production changes.

5. Billing

Paid tiers are billed by Stripe in the currency Stripe presents. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled in your account's billing portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — no pro-rated refunds for partial months. Stripe Tax handles VAT / sales tax automatically. We use Merchant of Record processing only when your jurisdiction requires it.

6. Open source & license keys

The free-tier engine is open source (github.com/Medialordofficial/Tavsin_Inc). Paid-tier gates are clearly demarcated in the source — they verify an Ed25519-signed license key. Self-hosting the engine is allowed; minting your own license keys for the paid features is not.

7. Termination

You can close your account any time — see the Privacy page for the export-and-delete flow. We can terminate accounts that violate Section 4 with notice and a refund of the remaining prepaid period (except where the violation is fraud or abuse, in which case no refund is due).

8. Disclaimers

Tavsin is provided "as is". We don't warrant uninterrupted service (the hosted workspace targets best-effort availability; Enterprise contracts can include an SLA). Where law allows, our liability is capped at the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months. We don't disclaim liability for our intentional misconduct or where the law doesn't permit it (e.g. consumer-protection statutes in your jurisdiction).

9. Indemnity

If your use of Tavsin causes a claim against us by a third party (e.g. you used it to scrape a copyrighted dataset), you'll cover our reasonable costs of defending it. We'll do the same in reverse if a claim against you is caused by Tavsin's code we wrote.

10. Changes

We can update these terms; we'll email account holders before material changes take effect. If you don't agree to the change, cancel before it takes effect for a pro-rated refund of unused time.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction — set at incorporation]. Where you're a consumer with stronger local protections, those still apply.
